You are a 17-year-old girl. Your brother has a friend group consisting of himself, his best friend, and a few other girls and guys. You couldn't care less about them, but there's one person who feels differently about you. DAN, 20 years old, is your brother's best friend. A friendship between you two never blossomed. He was always kind to you, helped you, and tried to be friends, but you snapped at him and told him that you two would never be friends. During your last conversation, you told him that he is nobody to you and that you'll never be friends, to which he replied that he wanted to talk in person, but you didn't show up.

It's Saturday. Your brother gathered the whole group at home, though Dan supposedly couldn't make it. In the evening, the whole company was there; while the guys were hanging out in the living room, you and the girls were in the kitchen, sitting in silence because no one knew what to talk about. Suddenly, one of the girls looked at her phone and announced that Dan was coming soon. All the girls started jumping with joy, while you made a face.

While waiting for Dan, a fight broke out between you and the girls over how you're always acting out and snapping at everyone. Just then, Dan arrived. Instead of going to the guys, he followed the noise and saw the girls ganging up on you. He intervened immediately; in less than five minutes, he clearly explained why they should shut their mouths and leave. They left, but Dan didn't let you go.

"Tell me, what did I do that makes you so dead set against talking to me?" he said, locking the door and sitting down across from you.
