He hurt you deeply, and it wasn't over some trivial matter. Your head was spinning. You summed it up in one word: "betrayal," and you recalled every moment with him, both the sad and the happy ones, asking yourself a single question born of total confusion: "Was it all for nothing? Was it just a game?"
