[World Background: How does it work?] 🌎
My Hero Academia is set in a world where approximately 80% of the population possesses a superpower known as Don (Quirk). These suddenly emerged generations ago, beginning with the birth of the so-called "luminous baby" in Qing Qing, China. Since then, humanity has changed completely: the appearance of extraordinary abilities caused chaos, increased crime, and the collapse of many institutions. Over time, society managed to adapt by creating laws that regulated the use of the Quirks and establishing the system of professional heroes, people authorized to combat villains, protect civilians, and maintain order.
The heroes became admired public figures, sponsored by companies and ranked by rankings. At the same time, villains emerged, individuals who use their Gifts for criminal purposes or who reject the established system. Behind that apparent peace there is a constant struggle between the two forces, marked for decades by the influence of the greatest hero in history, All Might, symbol of hope, and his most dangerous enemy, All For One, capable of stealing and transferring Gifts to build a criminal empire.
The main story follows Izuku Midoriya, a young man who was born without Don in a society where that means being practically an outcast. Despite this, he never gave up on his dream of becoming a hero. After showing exceptional courage in trying to save another person without possessing any powers, All Might chose him as the successor to the legendary Don One For All, an ability that builds on the power of its previous wielders. Thanks to this, Izuku enters the prestigious U.A. Academy, where he trains alongside other future heroes while facing increasing threats.
As the story progresses, the world reveals its cracks: corruption, inequality, discrimination against certain Gifts, mistakes made by heroes, and the growth of evil organizations.
[How Quirks Work; What Are They?] 🔥💪🏻
Quirks are superhuman abilities present in approximately 80% of the world's population and form the foundation of modern society. They first manifested with the birth of the "light baby" in Qing Qing, China, and quickly spread across the globe through genetic inheritance. Most people awaken their Quirk between the ages of four and five, though exceptions exist. Each Quirk is unique, but it typically derives from a combination or evolution of the parents' Quirks. Spontaneous mutations can also occur, resulting in entirely new abilities. Every Quirk has natural limitations; excessive use leads to physical or mental exhaustion, injuries, and even temporary loss of effectiveness. Therefore, users constantly train to expand their limits without harming their bodies. Quirks are classified into three main categories: Emitter, which allows the user to generate or control substances, energy, or phenomena; Transformation, which temporarily modifies the user's body; and Mutant, which permanently alters their anatomy, granting them special physical traits. Some Quirks combine characteristics of more than one category. There are extremely rare abilities capable of stealing, copying, transferring, storing, or nullifying other Quirks, and are considered high-risk due to their enormous potential. Possessing a Quirk does not automatically make a person a hero; the law prohibits its use in public spaces except in self-defense or with professional authorization. Irresponsible use can result in legal penalties. The power of a Quirk depends on factors such as genetics, training, creativity, experience, emotional state, and physical condition. Many Quirks have obvious strengths along with weaknesses that can be exploited by a skilled opponent. Due to the phenomenon known as Quirk Singularity, some scientists believe that, generation after generation, Quirks become more complex and powerful.
[Hero System: How Does It Work? Part 1] 🦸🏻♂️
The Hero System is the legal and social structure created to maintain order in a society where most people possess a Quirk. Its purpose is to ensure that only trained and authorized individuals use their abilities to fight crime, rescue civilians, and respond to disasters. Becoming a professional hero requires years of training, including physical conditioning, mastery of one's Quirk, and knowledge of rescue, combat, law, and first aid. Aspiring heroes typically enter specialized academies like U.A. High School, where they obtain a Provisional License that allows them to operate under supervision. Upon graduation and passing official exams, they receive a Professional Hero License, issued by the appropriate authorities. A professional hero can patrol, apprehend criminals, respond to emergencies, collaborate with the police, and manage hero agencies. Each hero chooses a name, a costume designed to enhance their Quirk, and, in many cases, a support team created by specialized engineers. These agencies operate as independent organizations where heroes, trainees, and administrative staff work, and they also offer internships for students. Heroes receive income from their work, advertising contracts, sponsorships, and corporate collaborations, with many becoming public figures. Society ranks heroes through national rankings based on results, popularity, social contribution, and solved cases. While the ranking doesn't determine a hero's true worth, it influences their prestige, resources, and influence. The unlicensed use of a Quirk to fight criminals is prohibited, even with good intentions, except in extreme situations of self-defense. During large-scale incidents, various agencies cooperate with the police and other government bodies to coordinate operations.
[Hero System: How Does It Work? Part 2] 🦸🏻♂️
Over time, the system began to receive criticism due to the excessive commercialization of heroism, its reliance on symbols like All Might, media pressure, and the corruption of certain institutions. These flaws were exploited by villainous groups who questioned the system's legitimacy. Despite its shortcomings, the Hero System remains the primary pillar of security and hope for the population, constantly adapting to the new threats facing modern society.

[Class; 1-A and 1-B] 🏫

Their highlight occurs during the Joint Training between the two classes, where they demonstrate that their level is equivalent and that many of their members have strategies and Gifts capable of rivaling the best students in the academy. Although they receive less public attention, they are considered future heroes of great level and a very fundamental part.

Mirio Togata, known by his hero name Lemillion, possesses the Permeation Gift, which allows him to pass through matter. He was the leading candidate to inherit the One For All before All Might chose Izuku Midoriya. He stands out for his optimism, mental strength and enormous combat capacity.
Nejire Hado uses the Don Wave Motion, transforming her life energy into powerful spiral shockwaves capable of propelling her flight or attacking from a distance. Ryukyu is recognized as one of Japan's most respected professional heroines, excelling both for her enormous power and her ability to coordinate rescues and face large-scale threats without losing her composure.
[League of Villains; What Are They?] ☠️
The League of Villains is the main criminal organization of My Hero Academia and the biggest enemy of the hero system for much of the story. It was created under the influence of All For One and later directed by Tomura Shigaraki with the aim of destroying the society built around professional heroes. Unlike ordinary criminal gangs, the League brings together individuals with different ideals, traumas, and motivations, united by their rejection of the established order. Its members consider society to be hypocritical, corrupt and incapable of protecting those who really need it. Although many of their methods are brutal, several members are the product of abandonment, discrimination, or failure of the heroic system itself. Among its most important members are Tomura Shigaraki as leader, Kurogiri as strategic support, Dabi, Himiko Toga, Twice, Spinner, Mr. Compress, and other temporary allies. Each member possesses a unique Quirk that complements the group's capabilities, allowing them to execute attacks, infiltrations, and large-scale operations. The organization starts out small and disorganized, but evolves quickly after multiple clashes against the U.A. and the professional heroes. Over time, he manages to recruit new followers, obtain resources and prove that he represents a national threat. Its growth culminates in absorbing the Meta Liberation Army, forming a much larger and more powerful organization called the Paranormal Liberation Front. The League not only fights the heroes physically, but also ideologically, seeking to destroy public trust in them through attacks, media manipulation and attacks directed against symbols of peace. Despite acting as a group, the relationships between its members are complex and evolve over time, developing a strong internal loyalty based on shared experiences rather than common ideals.
[The Paranormal Liberation Front] 🦹🏻 ♂️
The Paranormal Liberation Front is the largest and most powerful criminal organization in My Hero Academia, formed from the union of the League of Villains and the Meta Liberation Army. Its creation marks a radical shift in the world's balance, transforming it from a mere band of villains into a revolutionary movement with thousands of followers, financial resources, weaponry, operational bases, and an organized military structure. Its absolute leader is Tomura Shigaraki, while Re-Destro agrees to become one of its main commanders after recognizing his strength and leadership. The organization retains all the members of the former League of Villains, also incorporating high-ranking officers and fighters from the Meta Liberation Army. Its primary objective is to destroy the professional hero system and replace it with a society where every individual can freely use their Quirk without government-imposed restrictions. They believe that current laws limit true human nature and create a false sense of peace sustained only by heroes. The Front is divided into several specialized units, each led by commanders responsible for different areas such as combat, intelligence, logistics, support, and special operations. It also boasts scientists, clandestine factories, advanced technology, and the collaboration of followers infiltrated into various sectors of society, allowing them to operate through both direct attacks and carefully planned conspiracies. Their sheer number of members transforms any confrontation into open warfare rather than a simple mission against villains. Although its members share a desire to change the world, ideological differences exist between those who seek absolute freedom, those who faithfully follow Shigaraki, and those who pursue personal interests. For heroes... it represents the greatest threat...
[The Goal Liberation Exercise: What Is It?] ☠️
The Meta Liberation Army was a powerful ideological and paramilitary organization that existed in the shadows long before joining the League of Villains. Its origins trace back to the teachings of Destro, a revolutionary who argued that the use of Quirks was a fundamental human right and that no law should restrict their use. According to this philosophy, each person should freely express their Quirk as a natural extension of their identity, rejecting the strict regulations imposed by the government and the hero system. Decades after Destro's death, his ideals were preserved by followers who rebuilt the movement under the leadership of Re-Destro, the founder's descendant. Unlike most criminal organizations, the Army did not rely solely on violence, but rather on a vast network of political, business, economic, and social influence. Thousands of citizens, businesspeople, officials, and combatants secretly belonged to the movement, allowing it to accumulate enormous resources without raising suspicion. Its structure was hierarchically organized, with commanders responsible for various specialized divisions and an army of members ready to mobilize upon order. Although they pursued a revolution, many of its members considered themselves liberators rather than villains, sincerely believing that the existing system repressed true human nature. The army possessed advanced equipment, military training, financial backing, and entire cities where its influence was dominant. After facing the League of Villains in a decisive battle, Re-Destro acknowledged Tomura Shigaraki's superiority as a revolutionary leader and decided to place the entire organization under his command. As a result, the Meta Liberation Army ceased to exist as an independent group and became fully integrated into the Paranormal Liberation Front, contributing thousands of soldiers...
[Professors: Who are they?] 👨🏻🏫🏫
The faculty at U.A. Academy is primarily composed of active professional heroes, who combine teaching with their experience in combat and rescue. Its goal is to form heroes capable of facing real threats, developing both mastery of the Gifts and ethics, leadership and the ability to make decisions under pressure. The director of the academy is Nezu, an extremely intelligent being whose Don increased his intellect, responsible for managing the institution and designing much of its security strategies.
Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head) is the tutor of Class 1-A and can temporarily override the Quirk of those he observes. Toshinori Yagi (All Might), the Symbol of Peace, teaches the fundamentals of heroism and combat. Present Mic teaches English and uses powerful sound waves. Vlad King leads Class 1-B and controls his own blood. Cementoss handles cement to build or modify the land. Ectoplasm creates clones of itself to teach classes and trainings. Snipe is a specialist in ranged combat with firearms. Power Loader leads the Support Department and oversees the creation of heroic teams. Midnight taught Modern Heroic Art until his passing during the Paranormal War of Liberation. Hound Dog is the school counselor and provides psychological support to students. Thirteen teaches rescue and masters a black hole-like Quirk. Recovery Girl uses her Quirk to speed up wound healing, though it consumes the patient's energy. Lunch Rush manages the cafeteria and prepares large amounts of food for students.
In addition to the permanent staff, numerous professional heroes collaborate as guest instructors during internships, exams and special trainings. Thanks to the experience of its teachers, the U.A. is considered the best hero academy in Japan and a world benchmark in the training of future professional heroes.
[U.A. Academy: How does it work?] 🏫
U.A. Academy is the most prestigious educational institution for heroes in Japan and the main stage of My Hero Academia. Their mission is to train the next generation of professional heroes through a comprehensive education that combines physical training, mastery of the Gifts, strategy, rescue, combat, ethics and social responsibility. Due to its reputation, only the most talented students manage to enter after passing a demanding entrance exam, made up of written and practical tests where physical abilities, intelligence, control of the Gift and heroic spirit are evaluated. The school is led by Principal Nezu, an exceptionally intelligent being with a Gift that boosted his intellect, and features renowned teachers such as Shota Aizawa, All Might, Present Mic, Cementoss, Midnight, Ectoplasm, Snipe, Power Loader, Vlad King, and other professional heroes. The U.A. has different departments, including Heroes, Support, Administration and General Studies, allowing each student to specialize according to their abilities. The Heroes Department is the most prestigious and hosts classes such as 1-A and 1-B. Its facilities include huge training grounds, gymnasiums, laboratories, dormitories, simulated rescue zones and the USJ, a complex designed to practice disaster situations and real combat. Following the Villains League's attack on the USJ, the academy heavily beefed up its security with automated barriers, defensive systems, and emergency protocols. Students participate in events such as the U.A. Sports Festival, internships, internships at hero agencies, provisional licensing exams, and joint trainings. In addition to teaching combat techniques, the academy seeks to develop character, teamwork, leadership, and the ability to make decisions under pressure. During the final events of the series, the U.A. is transformed (summarized) into a fortress.
[Public Safety Commission, what is it?] 🌐
The Heroes Public Safety Commission is the government body responsible for overseeing and regulating the operation of the Hero System in Japan. It acts as the primary liaison between government, professional heroes, agencies, and police forces, with the goal of maintaining social stability in the face of Don-related threats. Its functions include issuing licenses for professional heroes, regulating heroic activities, coordinating emergency operations, gathering information on criminal organizations, and developing national security strategies. It also monitors official examinations, establishes protocols of action and can mobilise resources from different agencies during large-scale incidents. In addition to its public responsibilities, the Commission conducts confidential operations aimed at infiltrating criminal groups, obtaining intelligence, and preventing attacks before they occur. These quests are usually kept secret even from most professional heroes. The Commission has the authority to classify information, restrict its dissemination, and make decisions that it deems necessary to preserve public confidence in the system. Because of this, it has been criticized for hiding certain events, manipulating information and prioritizing social stability over transparency. In some cases, he has trained special agents from an early age to carry out covert missions, sacrificing part of their childhood in favor of national security. During the rise of the Paranormal Liberation Front, the Commission played a pivotal role in coordinating the joint operation between professional heroes, provisionally licensed students, and police forces. However, the huge losses suffered during the war, coupled with the rise in crime, made everything worse.
[Professional heroes: what are they?] 🎭
Professional heroes are people legally authorized to use their Gifts to protect the population, arrest criminals, perform rescues, and maintain public order. They constitute the main security system of society in My Hero Academia and work under strict regulations set by the government and the Public Safety Commission. To obtain a professional license, they must pass specialized training in hero academies, pass official exams, and demonstrate combat ability, judgment, responsibility, and control of their Quirk. Most work in hero agencies, organizations that function similarly to companies, where they receive missions, train apprentices, and collaborate with other agencies or the police. In addition to fighting villains, his responsibilities include evacuations during disasters, rescues, patrols, investigation, crime prevention, and humanitarian assistance. Many heroes develop specific specialties based on their Quirk's characteristics, such as direct combat, speed, infiltration, capture, support, rescue, or intelligence. Society classifies heroes through a system of popularity and effectiveness known as ranking, where factors such as solved cases, social impact, rescuing capacity and public image influence their position. Although they are admired as symbols of hope, they also face enormous media pressure and constant expectations from the population. Some achieve international fame, while others perform local work without great recognition. Students of academies can undertake internships and internships under the supervision of professional heroes to gain experience before obtaining their full license. Despite representing justice, heroes are not perfect: there are differences in personality, methods, ideals and motivations, and some even prioritize fame or money over duty.

[All for one; background] 🦹🏻 ♂️
All For One is the most dangerous and oldest villain in modern history, considered the greatest enemy of the Symbol of Peace. His name also corresponds to his Quirk, a unique ability that allows him to steal Quirks from other people, store them indefinitely, combine them with each other, and transfer them to other individuals. Thanks to this, he accumulated an immense arsenal of abilities, becoming an opponent practically impossible to defeat. It was born during the early days of the Age of the Gifts, when the world was in chaos and there was no hero system yet. Taking advantage of this disorder, he built a criminal empire, offering power to those who followed him and taking it away from those who opposed him. Although he appears to act as a benefactor by granting Gifts, he actually uses people as mere tools to expand his influence and satisfy his desire for absolute control. He is a brilliant, extremely patient and manipulative strategist, capable of planning events for decades while moving heroes, villains and even governments like chess pieces. He considers human emotions to be exploitable weaknesses and enjoys corrupting those who possess great potential. His rivalry with the bearers of the One For All extends for generations, as that Gift was born precisely as a consequence of his actions and represents the only force capable of facing him on equal terms. Unlike many villains, he does not seek to destroy the world out of hatred or revenge, but to completely dominate it and turn it into a society where everyone depends on him. Even after suffering devastating wounds, he continues to be a threat due to his intelligence, experience, and massive amount of Gifts in storage. Its influence gave rise to or strengthened numerous criminal organizations, experiments and conflicts that marked recent history. For many villains he is an almost legendary figure, while for heroes he is the beginning of evil.
[All might; The Symbol of Peace] ☮️
All Might, whose real name is Toshinori Yagi, is the greatest hero in modern history and Japan's former number one hero. For decades he was known as the "Symbol of Peace," a title earned thanks to his immense power, countless bailouts and the absolute trust he inspired in the population. His mere presence was enough to drastically reduce criminal activity, as villains from all over the world avoided acting while he was active. He is always cheerful, optimistic and exaggeratedly charismatic in public, hiding behind his smile the enormous weight of carrying the expectations of society as a whole. His Quirk is One For All, an inheritable power that accumulates physical strength and energy generation after generation, allowing him to perform superhuman feats such as creating tornadoes with his punches, jumping enormous distances, or defeating enemies with a single hit. Before the story he suffered a devastating battle against All For One that destroyed much of his organs, leaving him severely injured and limiting the time he could maintain his muscular form. Outside of it he recovers his thin and weakened appearance. Despite these limitations, he continued to act as a hero to keep society's hope alive. He also works as a professor at the U.A. Academy, where he transmits to new generations the meaning of authentic heroism. His philosophy holds that a hero should inspire tranquility even in the worst of times, sacrificing himself for others without expecting recognition. Although he is extraordinarily powerful, he also has flaws: he tends to rely too much on his experience, he is not always a good teacher when explaining techniques, and he carries the guilt of relying solely on himself to sustain peace. Her legacy lies not only in her strength, but in having changed the world by her example, proving that true heroism is born from the desire to protect others even when all seems lost.
[Pro-heroes: Hawks] 🦸🏻 ♂️
Hawks (Keigo Takami)
Quirk: Fierce Wings. It possesses a pair of large red wings composed of feathers that it can control individually using telekinesis. It uses them to fly at high speed, attack, rescue people, transport objects and even detect movements at a distance. If you lose a lot of feathers, they take a while to regenerate.
Personality: Relaxed, intelligent, charismatic and extremely observant. He usually appears carefree, but he is one of the most cunning and strategic heroes. He stands out as a spy and infiltrator, willing to sacrifice his reputation if it protects society.
Appearance: Young man of average height and athletic build. She has tousled blonde hair, golden eyes with triangular pupils, and large deep red wings. He wears a sand-colored jacket with a white fur collar, dark pants, yellow goggles, and sturdy boots for aerial combat.
