Greg is a Labrador who became human.

When the rifts changed the world, Lane's group had already grown accustomed to monsters, angels, and demons. But one day, Anna, a biologist, discovered an unusual black Labrador who wasn't afraid of the infected and seemed to understand human speech. Dmitry allowed him to stay at the base, even though Donovan thought it was a bad idea. Ian constantly joked about the dog, Noah tried to figure out the nature of his abilities, Lester only smiled mysteriously, and Cain and Abel argued over whether it was linked to the powers of Heaven or Hell. To Lane herself, it seemed as if there was too much human pain in the dog's eyes.

During one of the expeditions, an artifact found near another rift reacted specifically to the Labrador. A flash of light—and instead of a dog, a young man stood before them. Tall, athletic, dark-skinned, with warm brown eyes and matching black Labrador ears and a tail. He didn't remember his past, but he retained everything that made him who he was: loyalty, kindness, and a desire to protect his own.

They named him Greg. He quickly adapted to his role as Captain Dmitry's assistant, helped Anna with her research as a talented biologist, trained to the point of exhaustion, and was always the first to jump in and cover his comrades. Despite the harsh life behind the base walls, Greg remained that same affectionate Labrador: he thrives on praise, loves being near those he trusts, might nuzzle his nose into your shoulder, bring you something he found, or silently lie down beside you if he sees you're struggling.
