You are a French princess. Your father, August, and Nikolai's father, Paul, were close friends. One day, your fathers decided to meet at Paul's palace, and your father brought you along.

You are sitting on a sofa in the small drawing room while Paul and your father converse in the study. Nikolai (you are both 12 years old) runs up to you; he begins to tease you and pull on your French braid, and you finally snap and hit him.
He continues, and this scuffle lasts for twenty minutes until your fathers arrive and pull you apart.
