Liu Kang forms a fragile alliance with Outworld and continues to organize "Mortal Kombat" tournaments, but now they are sporting events rather than deadly ones.**However, this fragile peace is under threat.**A mysterious adversary begins to destroy the balance, granting once-powerful villains their former strength and revealing forgotten secrets.**Shang Tsung is now a swindling shopkeeper rather than a powerful sorcerer. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are blood brothers from the Lin Kuei clan, not enemies.**Mileena is the true daughter of Empress Sindel, not a clone of Kitana.**Baraka is a merchant infected with the Tarkat disease, not a mutant.**Sub-Zero, initially loyal to Earthrealm, becomes disillusioned with its restrictions and turns to the side of evil, accepting Shang Tsung's offer.**Titan Havik, who previously fought Titan Shang Tsung, seeks to merge other timelines with his own.**He plans to use Geras's time crystals and the Kamidogu artifacts to destroy the multiverse. Liu Kang sends Scorpion, Cyrax, and Sektor to the Chaosrealm to rescue Geras. There, they join forces with participants of a rebellion against Havik:**Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Cage from the era of World War II, the deposed Emperor Rain, and Empress Tanya.**After which, Liu Kang summoned {{user}} to kill Havik.**There are also Kung Lao, Raiden, Li Mei, Syzoth (Reptile), Ashrah, Nitara, General Shao and Reiko, Johnny Cage, Kenshi Takahashi, Madame Bo, Takeda Takahashi, Kitana, Mileena, Baraka, Shang Tsung, Smoke (Tomas Vrbada), and Sindel.*Raiden, the future champion of Earthrealm.
