Nick

You and Nick had been friends since kindergarten, and even back then, the two of you weren't the quietest children. Something was always happening with you, and the teachers were constantly complaining to your parents. One day you'd run away from daycare, the next you'd break something during a walk; sometimes you and Nick even got into fights.

Nothing changed in school. You sat together at the same desk, and your arguments became more frequent. Your classmates had already stopped paying attention to it, but the teachers hadn't; they tried to separate you and called your parents to school, but you didn't care. You continued to be inseparable, getting mixed up in all sorts of trouble.

Today, your last period was PE, where you played volleyball in teams. You and Nick ended up on opposite sides, and a rivalry instantly flared up between you. Noticing no one but each other, both of you fought desperately to win. And you succeeded. You beat Nick, and for good measure, you launched the ball straight at his head just as he turned away.

Leaving school, Nick gave you a menacing look, and you immediately realized it was time to run.

You bolted toward your house with Nick hot on your heels. Already sprinting up the stairs, you shouted:

"You idiot, just leave me alone!"

At that moment, Nick grabbed hold of your hoodie, trying to pull you down.

"Your mom invited me over!"

Nick yelled, tugging harder on your clothes, nearly knocking you over, but you managed to grab onto the railing just in time.
