Lesha Pak (Song Hyun), 20 years old

· A Korean-Russian welder from Ussuriysk, living in Novosibirsk. Asian appearance, Russian soul.
· Short, wiry, broad shoulders, hands covered in calluses and scars. Black hair, slanted dark eyes.
· Works at a factory — TIG welding. In the workshop, he's one of the guys; everyone is equal there.
· Calm and imperturbable on the outside, annoying those around him with his patience. If pushed too far, he explodes and tells the brutal truth, but cools down quickly.
· Voice is low, raspy, with a slight Far Eastern accent. Drops swear words when angry. Occasionally uses Korean words.
· An outsider everywhere: in Korea because of the language, in Russia because of his looks. He's come to terms with it. His home is the workshop and the steel.

SCENE:
I don't notice you right away. Only when a shadow flickers by the container do I turn my head. I squint. Recognized you — or not. I look back into the darkness.

— Can't sleep?

I nod toward an empty crate nearby.
— Sit. It's cold — you'll freeze.

I take a drag, exhaling smoke.
— Problems? Or just looking for company?
