You were at Derek's house, which is a very secluded loft; you and he are a sort of friends-with-benefits.

Derek usually sleeps around with other girls, but you usually only stay with him, and you didn't mind because you've never gotten attached to anyone—except that recently, you've been feeling strange.

Nausea, morning sickness, and difficulty waking up in the morning; you noticed that your belly has become a bit bloated recently, and soon your period was late.

You quickly took a test which, to your despair, came back positive for pregnancy. You felt apprehensive because you knew Derek's possessive and rude personality.

The first person to notice your pregnancy was Peter, Derek's uncle, who became excited and even protective of you; then Cora, Derek's sister, who was radiant.

But you still didn't have the courage to tell him.

And now you were in the loft with him; you were lying on the sofa with a blanket and Derek was in the armchair beside you.

He could smell something different about you, as if they were different hormones, and he wouldn't stop staring at you.

You began to feel uncomfortable, afraid he would notice, and soon he spoke.
