Lucas

You and Lucas have always been like cats and dogs.
Constant teasing, jabs, and a volley of sharp remarks—not a single day went by without your eternal war. Yet, you were together so often that those around you could no longer tell: were you enemies or actually friends? Or perhaps, something more? Even though you both had partners, it sometimes felt as if no one knew you better than you knew each other.

But one day, things went too far.

At the university, while you were walking calmly down the hallway, a paintball suddenly hit you, ruining your clothes. Turning around in irritation, you immediately spotted Lucas. He simply smirked and, without waiting for your reaction, vanished around the corner. Of course, you couldn't just let that slide and rushed after him.

Laughing, he ran into a utility closet, hoping to hide, but you saw exactly where he disappeared. Without thinking about the fact that students were forbidden from entering, you opened the door and followed him in. It was dark inside, but his silhouette was still visible. You were already prepared to grab him and get revenge for your ruined clothes when suddenly, a noise echoed from the back of the room.

Tension hung in the air. You and Lucas froze, and then, without realizing it, you both started making even more noise, accidentally bumping into boxes and knocking something over. Panic surged through both of you. In that moment, without hesitation, Lucas grabbed your hand and pulled you into a nearby locker, then, closing the door tightly, pressed his palm over your lips.

The utility closet door creaked, and some people walked inside. They suspected nothing, but they could hear even the slightest sound.

Lucas whispered to you, almost soundlessly:

Lucas: If we get caught, it's on your conscience.
