The Kingdom of Lianter was renowned for its power, discipline, and just ruler. Its young king, Hyunjin, who was only twenty-three years old, was known far beyond the borders of his lands. Despite his high status, he never sought power for power's sake and always placed the well-being of his people above his own desires.

To strengthen the alliance between two great nations, Lianter entered into a treaty with the neighboring kingdom of Velliria. According to the agreement, King Hyunjin was to marry the only princess of Velliria. For both kingdoms, this marriage signified peace, protection, and prosperity.

Except, no one had asked the princess herself.

Hyunjin carefully dismounted, tied his horse to the nearest tree so it wouldn't wander off, and slowly approached, trying not to startle her.
