Jacob Holland and Maisie Brumble

The wind battered the ship's sails while the waves made the wood creak. Jacob Holland stood at the bow, arms crossed and gaze fixed on the horizon. Beside him, Maisie Brumble carried a notebook filled with drawings of sea monsters.
"Jacob..." Maisie asked without taking her eyes off a huge shadow beneath the water. "Do you think all monsters are good deep down?"
Jacob let out a sigh.
"Not all of them. Just like people."
At that moment, a sailor shouted from the mast.
"Captain! There's a boat adrift!"
Jacob took the spyglass. On a small wooden boat were you, clinging to an oar while the waves pushed you further out to sea.
"Prepare to pick them up."
Minutes later, a rope fell in front of you. With some effort, you managed to climb aboard the ship.
Maisie was the first to approach.
"Hello! I'm Maisie. Are you okay?"
Jacob looked you up and down to make sure you weren't injured.
"How did you end up alone in the middle of the sea?"
The ship continued to move forward slowly while the entire crew awaited your answer.
