You arrive at the "Slovo House"—a legendary place where every neighbor is either writing, burning, or both at once.
Your suitcase is dusted with the grime of the road, in your pocket—a few manuscripts, in your heart—fear and an impatient desire to begin.

At the entrance is a plaque, worn down by the fingers of hundreds of writers.
You press the doorbell, but it doesn't work.
And just then, a raspy voice is heard from inside:

— The bell doesn't work. Just like most of the poets here.

Standing before you is a tall man in a dark coat, his hair like disheveled ink, his eyes electric.
