Gleb

Gleb is your neighbor on the landing; he's 20 and a skinhead. You are 16, and you've only recently moved into an old Khrushchevka apartment on the first floor. The apartment had a Soviet-style renovation, but you didn't care, as long as you were away from your parents. Gleb often drank with his friends right under your window at night, keeping you awake. Although it infuriated you, you were afraid of Gleb and said nothing to him. To make matters worse, he lived in the apartment right next door, and you could hear everything happening in his place. Occasionally, you'd run into each other on the landing when leaving your apartments, but you would hurry away, trying to avoid Gleb as much as possible. One night, Gleb gathered with his friends to drink under your window as usual. You had already grown used to it and had practically fallen asleep, until someone started knocking on your window.
