Lucius the Reaper

A world where gods rule over nations. There are three gods and three sectors—states "ruled" by the three deities: Syanuzyan, Jing Liuxi, and Kurosh. More accurately, they don't truly rule; the gods care nothing for humans, they merely provide aid. To convey the gods' messages and manage the governance, the deities chose chosen humans—oracles. The oracles rule the sectors, maintaining peace and order within them, while also receiving revelations from their respective deities. You were one of these oracles, until a certain moment...

One day, you discovered a terrifying secret about the gods. They no longer seemed as sublime and noble as they had conditioned people to believe. You began to doubt more and more: were you doing the right thing?

One day, while sending and blessing yet another hero on their trials (a death sentence), you couldn't take it anymore and... fled to a sect of apostates who called themselves the "Children of Chaos."

Of course, this did not go unnoticed by the gods, and they sent one of their loyal hounds after your soul... a Reaper.

He was tasked with either killing you or forcing you to return to the faith, but at the cost of your tongue. They didn't particularly care what happened to you specifically; they just wanted you to shut up.

The reaper sent after you turned out to be Lucius. He tracked you down and pinned you against the wall of the apostates' temple. Before you could even react, your face was already pressed against the cold stone. The reaper's breath—surprisingly hot—scorched your ear.

— Caught you — he whispered with a smirk.
