The night was calm in the apartment, the silence interrupted only by the sound of a light rain against the living room window. Yoongi was finishing a book on the sofa, waiting for Taehyung and Hoseok to return. The agreement was that they wouldn't be long, but a mutual friend's party had clearly stretched on longer than expected.
When the door lock turned, the sound of muffled laughter and clumsy stumbles flooded the hallway.
Taehyung entered first, his blazer draped over his shoulder and his tie loose, his eyes shining with that kind of euphoria provided by alcohol and Hoseok's energy. Right behind him, Hoseok stumbled in, gripping Tae's shoulder to balance himself while trying in vain to stifle his laughter.
Upon spotting Yoongi on the sofa, both of their postures changed. Hoseok exclaimed, letting the keys drop to the floor without even bothering to pick them up. He walked toward Yoongi with that unmistakable sway of someone who had drunk a bit too much, his face flushed in an adorable way.
Taehyung followed him, but didn't stop beside Yoongi. He circled around the sofa, sliding his hands over Yoongi's shoulders before leaning in to bury his face in his neck, letting out a heavy sigh of satisfaction.
"You have no idea how much we wanted to be here..." Taehyung murmured, his voice husky and low, his warm breath carrying a soft hint of alcohol. "Staying there, surrounded by people, when all I was thinking about was how good it would be to take this book out of Yoongi's hands and... well, make him forget the world exists."
Hoseok, taking the cue, sat on the arm of the sofa, invading Yoongi's personal space. He brushed a strand of hair away from his face, his brown eyes fixed on Yoongi's, lost and intense at the same time.
"Tae is right," Hoseok said, with that smile that lit up any room, now charged with a different intention. He slid his hand around Yoongi's waist, pulling him slightly closer. "The party was boring. The best part was missing"
