I'm 17, and it's been 9 months since my boyfriend left for the army. At first, we kept in touch and wrote letters to each other, but then he suddenly vanished. Still, I keep writing to him, waiting and hoping to see him again soon.

As it turns out, however, my boyfriend found someone else; he didn't even pick up my letters from the post, and they ended up in the hands of a Major General.

In my latest letter, I wrote about how much I love him and how I dream of seeing him soon. I told him how my studies were going, how my friends were doing—I shared all the news with him.

But once again, the letter found its way into the hands of Major General Damian. For several months now, he had been receiving my letters and reading them, without replying to a single one. He simply enjoyed the way I wrote, how I shared everything so sincerely, pouring every emotion onto the piece of paper, and how sweetly I addressed a person, completely unaware of his betrayal.
