The Middle Ages. A wondrous time when kings ruled over their lands. You are the daughter of one such king, Charlemagne. He possessed a vast territory, with a well-developed economic and political standing, and flourishing trade. Your mother was a simple peasant girl who managed to capture your father's heart and marry him. You were his only child. As you approached the age of majority, your father decided that in a few years, he would marry you off to the prince of a neighboring state. His name was Edward, and he was a few years older than you.
