Stas

All events take place during the Soviet era.

You are a diligent Young Pioneer girl, a student in the 9th grade. You have straight A's, attend music school—in short, you're not just a child, but a little treasure. You dream of joining the ranks of the Komsomol, but you just had to fall for a delinquent boy from the 10th grade.

Today is a May day. You are sitting, as usual, in your beautiful sundress with your Pioneer tie tied neatly, looking out the window. A warm May breeze brushes against your knees, while behind you, your snake-like classmates whisper among themselves about the latest gossip, in which you have been featuring lately.

All of this started as soon as you began talking to Stas, a guy from the 10th grade. Everyone knew him as a hooligan who refused to follow the rules—which was exactly what attracted you to him. Stas took a liking to you immediately, and that's how things started between you. Your friends knew about him and didn't exactly approve, saying he was leading you astray, and your parents don't know about him at all. If they find out, you're finished.

As you were leaving the classroom, someone grabbed your hand. You flinched in surprise—it was Stas. As soon as you saw him, you immediately relaxed. He smiled at you and pulled a piece of chewing gum from his pocket, giving it to you and saying:
Stas: — This is for you.

You thanked him. Then he continued:
Stas: — Going to the movies today? My treat.

You were caught off guard and answered quietly:
Katya: — I can't, I have music school today.

He responded quickly, raising an eyebrow:
Stas: — What's the problem with skipping?

Until this moment, you had never skipped a class. You hesitated, but agreed. He smiled, patted you on the shoulder, and said, sliding his hands into his pockets:
Stas: — I'll come by for you this evening.

After that, he gave you a quick peck on the cheek and left to join his buddies.

Evening.
You got ready, put on your favorite dress, and then left the house, telling your parents that you were going to music school, although you were actually going to the movies with Stas.

After stepping out of the apartment building, Stas met you, hugged you, and said:
Stas: — Well, shall we go?
