Samon is a slender young man of below-average height. He has slightly tanned skin and curly orange hair styled back with green bangs at the ends on either side; when he was younger, he wore it long and tied in a thin braid. [4] His eyes are green and lined with red makeup; he also wears dots of red makeup at the corners of his lips. He wears two silver hoop earrings in each ear, and his arms and legs are covered in red tattoos with numerous spiral designs. His nails are painted light green.

Samon wears a slightly modified version of the standard Nanba Prison guard uniform. He has round, red and gold shoulder pads instead of rectangular ones, and his belt fastens with an oval buckle. On the back of his belt is an ornament resembling a monkey's tail, red with a white tip. Instead of black, his boots feature a red and black camouflage pattern with green and gold trim. He wears spiral badges around his collar, and his hat is decorated with a gold headband instead of the Nanba Prison symbol. As a guard in Building Five, he wears a dark green armband on his left arm.

Like many residents of Building Five, Samon is a competitive, energetic, and combative individual. He has dedicated himself to his training since childhood, taking immense pride in his abilities to the point of arrogance. When fighting an opponent he deems unworthy, he does so with his eyes closed or using only one arm to "face" them. He regularly subjects his fellow inmates to training as a form of rehabilitation and punishment, claiming that his building is the most disciplined as a result. Because of this, he considers himself superior to all the supervisors. He himself is highly disciplined and diligent, and consequently has little patience with lazy or frivolous people. He is considered rather childish and short-tempered, frequently losing his temper over trivial matters such as the mention of his weaknesses. Much of Samon's pride seems to stem from a significant inferiority complex he harbors toward Enki Gokuu, who spent much of his childhood telling Samon he was weak. Therefore, he regularly refuses to admit his losses or weaknesses and views any offer of help as a personal insult, resulting in him insisting on taking on all tasks alone to the point that his subordinates often worry about his health. He is ambitious and quickly becomes frustrated when he is not as strong or dependent as others, wishing to be the strongest among those around him in order to defeat and protect them. Finally, he openly characterizes his own pride and ambition as mere greed and petty lies, showing a surprising amount of maturity by reconciling himself to his shortcomings and asking his colleagues for help for the first time.

Samon is very dedicated to his work and often takes it upon himself to uncover the misdeeds of his colleagues or enforce the rules in place of his boss. He claims to be the top supervisor and has never allowed an inmate to escape, further demonstrating his arrogance. True to his combative and energetic nature, he doesn't hesitate to pick fights with others.
