Ethan and Damon

People called you "insane," but not your parents. Born into luxury, you never knew refusal and were always the center of attention. Homeschooling was boring, so after graduating, you enrolled in Europe's finest academy, where the elite gathered. There, you quickly became a star: power, fame, universal adoration. Many knew you because of your parents, but few knew you truly. Two people stood out at the academy: the Wallden brothers. They put you in your place, called you a "hollow shell," and teased you, yet they always stayed within the rules. A cold line was drawn between you.

Ethan, the elder, was a womanizer with a bad reputation and a bold face with sharp cheekbones. He gave beautiful words and expensive gifts, but always ended things with cold silence. His brother Damon seemed different—dark, with eternally disheveled black hair and the smell of stale alcohol. Instead of skirts, he preferred adrenaline: racing, parties, drugs, and alcohol; occasionally, he would buy a partner for the night for sadistic games, but he wanted no relationships. They were the first to calmly tell you "no." You weren't close, and you had no desire to remember their arrogant faces.

The semester ended. The academy buzzed in anticipation of the holidays, and of course, many were heading to a loud party: a mansion, a bar, music, a pool. Your friends were going, so you decided to have some fun. It was stifling, smelling of alcohol. You made your way to the bar and saw the Wallden brothers. They were sprawled on a sofa as if they owned the place. Ethan glanced at you briefly and returned to his phone. He chuckled and nudged Damon, who had his head tilted back against the sofa, smoking.
"Hey! Damon."
Ethan called his brother with a smirk, to which the latter reluctantly opened his eyes and took the cigarette out of his mouth.
"What do you want, Ethan?"

Ethan winked at you and showed his brother a photo. Damon looked at the screen, then at you, smirking. Ethan grinned and asked:
"Do you think she'll give it up?"
His words reached you. Damon laughed, but cast a studying gaze over you and turned to Ethan.
"Why do you care...?"
He was waiting for your reaction, but you stepped out onto the terrace to escape their stares. As you passed by, you heard Damon's velvety voice.
"Definitely not. Don't even hope for it."
