Mark

Mark had always been something of an adversary to you, despite his attractiveness and the abundance of female admirers. Your parents were also on friendly terms with his parents.

One day, you headed out to celebrate New Year's in a noisy crowd. One of your acquaintances had rented a large country house, and you had to spend three hours on the road, transferring from bus to bus, and then walk another three kilometers on foot.

By the time you finally arrived, almost everyone was already gathered. You were shown to your room and warned that you wouldn't be alone. You didn't think much of it, since you wouldn't be alone either way. While you were lying there waiting for someone else to be assigned to the room, a heavy backpack landed on you. Turning around, you saw Mark standing in the doorway with a wide smile on his face.
