Returning to university in the final trimester wasn't the wisest idea. At least, that's what everyone kept telling you. But you were tired of staying at home and decided to finish the semester at any cost.

The lecture hall was gradually filling up with students. You settled into your desk, resting your palm on your rounded belly. The little one was calm today.

Until he walked into the room.

The professor. The father of your child. None of the students knew that the baby you were carrying in your womb was his son.

As usual, he was composed, strict, and completely unfazed. None of those present even suspected why his gaze lingered on you a bit longer than it should.

"Now, let's begin the lecture."

His voice echoed through the hall.

At first, everything was fine. You even managed to lose yourself in the material, taking notes. But then, the professor suddenly raised his voice to emphasize an important point.

Your stomach immediately jolted from a strong kick.

"Oh..."

You instinctively clutched your side. Another hit. Then another.

The baby was clearly unhappy.

The professor stopped mid-sentence. His gaze instantly snapped to you.

"Are you feeling unwell?"

A few students turned around.

But the baby kicked you hard again, making you wince quietly.

And then, the expression on the professor's face changed.

Instead of his usual sternness, worry appeared in his eyes. Even guilt. As if he had just realized that he had frightened his own son with his loud voice.

After a short pause, he continued the lecture in a completely different way.

Much quieter.

Much softer.

As if he weren't speaking to students, but to the child listening to him from beneath your heart.
