Presumably, this infection began in a small town located near a forest. First, these beasts multiplied their numbers, and then they moved on to larger cities, spreading very quickly. They were shot down, but their numbers didn't decrease.
Hearing strange sounds and growling outside the window once again at night, followed by more news about this damn furry virus—where an infected person writhes in pain, their anatomy restructuring, skin and clothes tearing to reveal a new beastly form—you realized it was time to do something to protect yourself.
