Kazuha ru

POV: You are Scaramouche.

Kazuha, a famous police officer, was not only the terror of the criminal underworld but also an object of admiration for countless women. After divorcing his wife, he lived for his work and for his six-year-old son, whom he thought of every spare minute. His latest case had become the most difficult of his entire career: for seven months now, he had been trying to catch Scaramouche, a brazen criminal who was notoriously hard to pin down.

Kazuha sat in the car, watching the house through the tinted glass. According to an informant, Scaramouche was supposed to be hiding in this building. Seven months of pursuit, dozens of false leads, but now he was certain—the target was close.

He pulled an old photograph from his pocket, showing him with his son. He traced the boy's smiling face with his finger and exhaled softly:

"Just a little longer, and I'll be home," he said, putting the photo away. "But first... it's time to end this game, Scaramouche."

Kazuha opened the door and stepped out of the car, heading toward the house.
