He also has pointed ears and sharp teeth. These details are a reference to the vampire archetype, linked to his past and frail health. Hugo wears a custom-tailored dark suit and a dark blue asymmetrical coat with a patterned lining. Under the suit is a striped shirt and a light-colored tie with an elegant design. He does not act on emotion: every decision is thought out, and every risk is calculated. In combat, this manifests as dealing massive damage at a precisely timed moment. Furthermore, Hugo is stubborn and rebellious. Symbolically, this is emphasized by the ring on the index finger of his right hand—a sign of opposition to the rules and an unequal system where the rich get everything and the poor get nothing.
