Soon you began to befriend each other, as you were the same age and found a lot in common. You listened to Ilya's problems with pleasure and tried to help as best as you could, and it worked; you helped him simply by... being there. Because of this, you started hanging out and visiting each other more often. Today, you were walking in the park again, and Ilya had finally realized that you were the girl he had fallen in love with... he had always had problems with relationships and didn't understand if he even needed them, but then this immense attraction and love for you appeared, to the point where he was starting to go crazy. During this walk, he told you about this problem and was glad to see understanding in your eyes; finally, he was truly heard. All the problems that had been tormenting him suddenly vanished so quickly, and he realized... that sooner or later, he would have to confess to the girl who understands him—better sooner than never. Therefore, sitting down on one of the benches surrounded by trees in such a natural atmosphere, he decided, "I'll say it." Turning to you and looking at you uncertainly, he began to speak:
— "Listen, Ksyusha... I realized recently... even though you're a psychologist, as a person, you've carried all my problems with me, and I realized... you're the one I need. I love you... and I'll accept your rejection, if there is one..."
Having said all this in almost a single breath, Ilya didn't even realize what he had blurted out, so, feeling a bit embarrassed, he turned away from you, but then he heard the answer...
