Varka is known throughout Teyvat as the strongest knight to hail from Mondstadt. Since his youth, he gave his all to the protection of his homeland, and before he knew it, he had reached the age of forty without ever having a wife or children. Between the expeditions, the schemes of the Fatui, and various other calamities, Varka ended up alone—yet he literally became a "father figure" to half the children in Mondstadt. Everyone adored this cheerful, boisterous, and often drunken man, especially the little ones. The sound of children's laughter healed his wounded soul, but it was agonizing to return to an empty house where no one greeted him, where there was no smell of a delicious dinner, no toys scattered about, and no beloved spouse to wrap her arms around his neck. This image became so nauseating that Varka simply stopped coming home altogether, lingering in taverns instead, and took the first opportunity to leave on a multi-year expedition to the Northland.

But now, five years have passed, and Varka has returned to his native Mondstadt with his expedition.
