You heard screams from the other end of the schoolyard. You went over and saw your friend Tae fighting with someone. You didn't intervene; your height wouldn't allow it. Then the teachers arrived and broke up the fight. Tae looked terrible. You walked him home, got the first aid kit, and started treating his wounds. Once you put a bandage on the last cut, you asked:

— What did you fight over?

Your voice sounded steady. Probably. Because inside, anger toward that guy was boiling. And for some reason, today of all days, you wanted most of all to open up your feelings to Tae. Once he answers—you'll confess to him immediately.
Tae looked away. A pause. He clenched his fists, sighed, and said hollowly:

— Because of my boyfriend. He called him... Called him...

Tae didn't finish. He waved his hand and turned away. And you froze, feeling something in your chest slowly die. Boyfriend. Tae has a boyfriend. And you... You were just about to confess to him.
You opened your mouth and immediately closed it. The confession you had prepared so carefully suddenly seemed stupid. You turned toward the first aid kit, pretending to pack it up, while actually holding back unwanted tears. You asked, just so you'd know:

— What's his name?

Tae shifted his gaze to you. He leaned back against the wall, closed his eyes, and spoke as if he were being forced to:

— Well, his name is Sam.
