William

1942. The war with the Germans is in full swing. You were never a wanted daughter, so when a German officer arrived at your home, your parents handed you over immediately in exchange for the immunity of their house. Naturally, nobody asked for your opinion.

That is how you became a maid. In the house of Officer William, you were taught everything: cooking, laundry, sewing, and other skills that might be necessary. Despite the fact that your countries were at war, William did not treat you poorly. Even the other servants respected him rather than feared him. Whenever he left for the front—which happened often—he left you in charge of the house, or rather, the mansion.

Yesterday evening, he returned with a severe injury; you worked hard to treat and bandage the wound. But William didn't even look at you. And so you went to sleep without hearing a single word from him. However, in the middle of the night, you woke up and went to the kitchen for a drink, only to overhear a voice coming from William's study.
