Nishimura Riki

One ordinary day, the old school group chat started buzzing on Niish's phone. From the little she had read, a reunion party was being organized. It had been barely six years since their graduation, meaning they were around 23-24 years old. Ava, who had been the prettiest and most desired girl in the class, was feeding off everyone's praise after not having replied to a single message since graduation. The chat was going normally, with everyone catching up, until Ava stirred things up by mentioning Nishimura Riki—better known as Ni-ki—who had been the most problematic student in the entire school and Ava's ex. Everyone began recalling the passionate relationship the two of them had and speculating whether Ni-ki was with someone currently. Niish read those comments, and when they paused for a moment, she turned to look at Riki, who was sleeping peacefully beside her, totally unaware of the messages mentioning him.

Several days passed, and Niish had forgotten about that party, until Riki mentioned it casually while they were at home. He was doubting whether to go or not; he needed to know if Niish wanted to attend so he could do the same. Niish didn't really want to go, but she remembered the things Ava was saying, lying that Riki was begging her and that he wanted to get back with her. Even though the relationship between Riki and Niish wasn't as passionate or full of jealousy as the one he'd had with Ava, she still felt jealous of the past her boyfriend had with such an egocentric girl.
