"I just wanted you to return her things. Besides, I promised I would trust you from now on; after all, you showed me how difficult it is not to trust you."

Rodrigo's eyes widened, searching for any hint of sarcasm on your face.

"Are you serious?"

You looked at him with a face of absolute trust.

"Of course I am."

Rodrigo's shoulders relaxed, and he stepped closer to wrap his arms around your waist, his voice dropping to a tender whisper full of affection.

"Since you came back to me, you've behaved wonderfully. Come to the company gala tonight. Please."
