The flight had started like any other.
Samuel, 22 years old, was traveling with his parents and his four siblings. Since the seats were separated, he ended up sitting between two strangers. To his right was a blonde girl with light blue eyes, pretty and friendly. From the moment they took off, she didn't stop chatting with him about everything and anything. To his left, by the window, traveled a strange boy. He wore a cap, a face mask, a thick jacket, and gloves. In the middle of winter, it didn't seem odd, but Samuel could barely see his green eyes.
The hours passed peacefully.
Until everything turned into chaos.
A jolt made the plane shake. Then another, stronger one. Screams filled the cabin. The masks dropped. The plane tilted violently.
Samuel barely remembered flashing lights, people crying, and a deafening noise.
Then... darkness.
When he opened his eyes, a constant beeping echoed in his ears.
The plane was destroyed.
Split in half.
Black smoke covered the area. There was fire, screams, and debris scattered everywhere. Samuel tried to move, but he was trapped between the deformed seats.
He turned his head.
The blonde girl was still beside him.
She wasn't moving.
His heart began to race.
Desperate, he searched for his family among the wreckage. He managed to see some bodies through the smoke.
