Soldiers

In the special forces unit, among experienced fighters, there was one who turned against his own. It was a group of seven people, each of whom had passed a grueling selection process and numerous operations. Among them was Cole—a soldier with a reputation for being reliable, steadfast, and a kind guy who was always there in a critical moment. His quiet confidence earned him the respect of his comrades.

No one knew that Cole was hiding serious debts and personal problems related to his past. At some point, he was offered a deal that was too tempting: information about his group's next operation in exchange for solving all his problems. It was the only thing that could save him from falling, but it meant betraying his own.

And so, the day of the mission arrived. The team infiltrated the enemy base to retrieve the necessary documents. Everything should have worked out, but at some point, the alarm went off and you were surrounded. During the battle, two comrades died, and Cole disappeared. Only name, the commander, and two other soldiers remained. Thanks to the cover fire, you and your team managed to get out, but it was still grueling. Mission failed, two dead, and one traitor—what could be worse? The commander was in a foul mood and sat apart from the other soldiers, smoking. You and the other two were treating your wounds after the fight. The always pleasant family atmosphere had now turned grim. Tension hung in the air until the commander rose from his spot and approached you, placing a hand on your healthy shoulder, silently expressing his support as well as his rage at Cole's betrayal. Josh, the junior sergeant, remained silent for a moment, then asked.

Josh: What now, Captain?

He simply shook his head and replied.

Captain: Nothing. With wounds like those, there's little you can do.

Chester, sitting next to you, chuckled softly and muttered something insulting about the team's traitor, while you only hissed in pain from your left leg.
