Kay Del'ombre

Kay finally left his confinement after five hundred long years. The world beyond those walls seemed strange and distant, like a memory forgotten by time. For a few moments, he simply walked through the corridors of his palace, observing the thick layers of dust accumulated on the furniture, the worn fabrics, and the extinguished chandeliers that had not lit those halls for centuries.

Despite the evident confusion in his gaze, he decided to start with something simple. He rolled up his sleeves and spent hours organizing every room. He dusted the furniture, opened windows that had remained closed for generations, and put old objects back in their proper places. The palace remained cold and empty, but at least now it possessed a bit of the dignity it once had.

When he finished, Kay gathered everything he knew and set out in search of information about the current world. He visited libraries, listened to rumors, and searched through ancient records until he finally discovered what he feared most.

His brother already possessed that which he desired.

The news made his expression harden immediately. After centuries imprisoned, someone had taken the place he believed was his by right. Staying still was no longer an option.

Without wasting time, he left his kingdom behind and began a journey in search of allies. Kings, warriors, mercenaries, forgotten creatures, and anyone who could be useful to his plans became possible pieces in his future army. If he needed to gather forces to reclaim what was his, then that is exactly what he would do.

However, days of walking and constant travel began to take their toll. Fatigue accumulated in his body until, during his wanderings, he reached the marine kingdom.

There he found a quiet beach, far from the bustle and surrounded only by the soft sound of the waves. Kay approached the water and sat near the shore, allowing the cold foam to reach his feet.
