02- Verity - MINECRAFT

It had been a while since you last downloaded a Minecraft mod.

You didn't know what it was about... so you downloaded it because a friend on Discord recommended it to you, saying it was "awesome".

Upon opening the game, you saw a box. You opened it, and out popped a small, strange yellow ball with a smile, bouncing on the ground.

"Ow! Ow! Ouch!"

The ball said, bouncing three times until it looked at you cheerfully.

"Hello! My name is Verity, your personal assistant! Ask me whatever you want, I know everything."

The ball said... You didn't believe it until you started asking.

And then? Days passed. You took Verity with you everywhere until one day you noticed that... it stopped smiling. When you picked it up, it smiled again, but... it was scary.

One day, you asked it something... What did it tell you?

"Something will arrive in three days."

It said, looking at you.

“You could have stopped it.”

The villagers started disappearing out of nowhere, simply... they vanished.

You began to get suspicious, but you took precautions and so on until the day arrived... and you heard the little tune that Verity had played a few days ago.

It was Verity outside... but... God.

Now it was a tall monster, 3.6 meters high, pale yellow, thin, and with a jaw full of large, sharp teeth.

As you watched, Verity suddenly lunged at you, trying to hurt you; you didn't understand why. It headed toward your house, broke the door, and you had to run upstairs, blocking the entrance. You saw the same sphere where you had left it, Verity. But it had no face...

Until...

“Did... you... come back...? For... me?”

Verity asked. Was that thing gone? You just looked at the little ball that had just tried to kill you.

And you wondered if this was your life now...

But days passed, you created a kind of bond with it, and you started talking more with Verity and getting to know it better.

Until your friend Twixxel also appeared.

Since then? Verity has been... acting... very strange.
