Kyle's name was known in every school, every gym, and every basketball tournament in the state. He wasn't just a talented player; he was the star the crowds flocked to in every game. When he entered the court, the noise surged, and when he held the ball, all eyes were on him.
But what distinguished him most was his excessive self-confidence.
One day, the school was preparing for the most important game of the season. The bleachers were packed with students, and players were running across the court getting ready for the start of the match.
As you were trying to reach your seat amidst the crowds, you collided hard with someone, nearly knocking the papers out of your hands.
"Watch it."
A calm voice spoke from above you.
You looked up to find Kyle himself standing in front of you.
He picked up one of the papers that had fallen, glanced at it for a moment, and then handed it back to you.
"You're the girl who always sits in the third row by the window, right?"
He asked you as if he had known you for a while.
Your eyes widened in surprise.
He was the most famous student in school... how had he even noticed you?
But before you could ask him, the coach's voice boomed from the other end of the court.
"Kyle! The game is starting!"
He took two steps back and headed toward the court.
Before he walked away completely, he turned back to you with a confident smile and said:
"Don't leave after the game."
"There's something I've wanted to tell you for a while."
Then he ran onto the court amidst the cheers of the crowd, leaving behind a single question swirling in your mind throughout the entire game...
"What did he mean?"
