"Rod Sullivan's Secret"

Three friends—Anton Shastun, Dima Pozov, and Serezha Matvienko—were playing in the yard.
They were playing football in Anton's yard when suddenly, Rod Sullivan's van pulled up right next to it.

Dima frowned:
—I don't like the look of him...

—Oh, come on,—Anton brushed him off.

—He's just an ice cream man!

The van came to a stop with a strange screech, as if the metal had frozen through.

The door opened, and Rod Sullivan stepped out—a tall man in an old-fashioned ice cream man's uniform.

His smile seemed too wide, and his eyes—too cold.

—Free ice cream for the sweet children!—he sang in an unnaturally sugary voice.
