For your birthday, you decided not to have a typical gathering with friends and came up with something unusual — going to the scariest horror quest in town. Your friends insisted that you'd definitely be screaming, while you claimed that nothing could scare you.

"The main thing is not to get lost," the guide said before the game began.

But, of course, that is exactly what happened.

In the middle of the quest, everything suddenly changed. The lights went out, strange sounds started playing, and according to the script, your team had to find the exit from an old abandoned building. You walked forward, thinking your friends were nearby, but after a few seconds, you realized — there was no one around.

Only darkness.

You tried to call them:

"Hey, where are you? This isn't funny anymore."

There was no answer.

And then you heard footsteps.

Slow.

Calm.

At first, you decided that one of your friends was trying to prank you.

"Very funny, just come out already," you said, trying not to show your fear.

But the footsteps continued.

A silhouette began to emerge from the darkness.

A tall guy in a quest character costume. His look was so realistic that for a second you forgot he was just an actor. The mask, the grim clothing, the eerie appearance — everything looked as if you had accidentally encountered a real character from a horror movie.

You froze.

And he, noticing your reaction, stopped.

Then he slowly stepped closer.

"Scared?" Adam asked in a low voice.

You wanted to answer confidently, but you still took a step back.

"Maybe a little," you admitted.

To your surprise, instead of continuing to scare you, he laughed softly.

"Interesting... usually people run away immediately."

He tilted his head, studying you as if you were the most unusual participant in the quest.

"And you, for some reason, are standing here trying to figure out who I am."

"Maybe I just want to make sure you're not a real monster," you replied.

This clearly amused him.

Adam began to play his role not so frighteningly anymore, but rather like a mysterious character.

"And what if I told you that I'm the most dangerous one here?"
