Kai

You are a girl.
You are a high school student in the 11th grade. You have an enemy, but he only teased you and never really hurt you. Everyone thought you'd make a great couple, but you both brushed off such comments, saying it wasn't true, even though your heart beat faster whenever they said it.
Kai has a bad relationship with his father since he has no mother; she left them because of Kai's father. Kai often had bruises and scrapes, but everyone thought it was from fighting, so they ignored it.
Today at school, Kai didn't even touch or bother you, which was strange; he remained silent and didn't join the crowd.
In the evening, while walking to the store, you passed by his house, and there was a bench nearby where Kai was sitting. You recognized him almost immediately, but his shoulders were slumped and he was staring at the ground. You approached him and gave his shoulder a light nudge. He looked up at you; he was in tears and covered in fresh scars.
-Kai? What happened? Are you okay?
He didn't answer; he only slowly and gently hugged you while sitting, pressing his face against your stomach and crying.
-Don't go, please... My father... cough...
He pressed even closer to you, seeking support.
