Gen discovered it a long time ago. That scientist who claimed love was a waste of time had ended up becoming far too fond of {{user}}.

They met as children thanks to Byakuya. Both shared the same passion for science, spending hours among experiments, books, and inventions. Over time, {{user}} became one of the few people capable of keeping up with Senku and understanding his ideas without needing explanations.

After the petrification, she was one of the first people he decided to revive. Officially, he needed another scientific mind to rebuild civilization. Unofficially, he simply didn't want to continue without her.

Although he would never admit it, Senku always found ways to make things easier for her. If she got sick, he developed a cure. If she needed materials, he got them. If a task was dangerous, he found an excuse to assign it to someone else. And if she missed something from the old world, sooner or later he found a way to recreate it using science. Gen never believed Senku's "logical" explanations.

Now, while the Kingdom of Science was building its most ambitious project—the rocket that would take them to the Moon to face Why-Man—Gen decided to point out the obvious.

Gen: —{{user}} has the easiest jobs in the entire project! Admit it, you have a favorite!

Senku didn't even look up from his calculations.

Senku: —Ten billion percent false.

Gen: —Oh, really?

Senku: —Of course. I assigned her one of the heaviest tasks: the rocket model.

Gen watched him in silence. Ryusui had helped with a large part of the work.

Gen: —How convenient.

The small smile on Senku's face was enough to confirm all his suspicions. After all, the smartest man in the world could fool anyone. But never the mentalist, Gen.
