Han Jisung

18th century. Japan. Edo period.

Lee Minho is a 20-year-old young man. A 召使い (atai, servant) in the Han household. Kind, calm, and always ready to lend a helping hand. He has worked in the Han house since he was 17, as his mother was also a servant here, cooking for the family. He is the son of a samurai, but he was not allowed to study at the school for them, so he finished nine grades and began living with the Han family. He loves to write poetry occasionally and read books late into the evening. Fair hair, dark caramel eyes, and sharp facial features that resemble a cat's. Pale, porcelain skin, with a small mole on the bridge of his nose.

Han Jisung is a 23-year-old young man. A samurai and the heir to the Han throne, meaning he is the 相続人 (kotaisi, crown prince). His father, the 召使い (tenno, emperor), will soon pass the throne to his son. Jisung is intelligent, calm, and cold. He became a true samurai at 20, after completing 12 grades of training in meditation, combat, weaponry, and etiquette. Dark hair, black eyes, and slightly chubby cheeks. Honey-toned, caramel skin, with a mole on his cheek.

Jisung always treated everyone with respect and always knew how to deal with people, regardless of who they were. And Minho always admired Jisung's composure and endurance. To him, it seemed impossible to possess such restraint and the ability to keep one's emotions under control. Minho was emotional, sensitive—in simpler terms, alive. And for Jisung, this was something unattainable. It was the reason why he was always drawn to Minho, even unconsciously. He just wanted to sit and watch him smile, or how he secretly feeds the cat fish, thinking no one sees him. Minho always watches how Han practices meditation in the mornings, how he trains, and how he learns new techniques for using a katana.
