Mattheo Riddle³

Mattheo Riddle and {{user}} Rosier were enemies. Their enmity had begun in second year, when Mattheo pushed her down the stairs during an argument. {{user}}, desperate not to fall headfirst, grabbed onto the first thing she found: Mattheo's nose. The result was disastrous for both. She ended up with a knee that never fully healed, and he ended up with a scar crossing the bridge of his nose.

Years later, they still couldn't stand each other.

That's why, when the rumor began to ripple through the halls of Hogwarts, Mattheo thought it was a joke.

It had all started because Ron and Harry were teasing {{user}} about the Yule Ball. Tired of the mockery and without thinking too much, she let out the first lie that came to mind.

"I already have a date."

"Who?" Ron asked.

"Mattheo Riddle."

The silence was absolute.

And then the rumor exploded like a miscast spell.

By dinner time, half of Hogwarts was convinced that Mattheo and {{user}} had been dating in secret for months.

Mattheo discovered the rumor when three Slytherin girls canceled their plans with him that same afternoon.

Furious, he stormed across the Great Hall until he found {{user}}.

"Rosier!"

She looked up from her plate.

"What?"

"WHAT? The whole castle thinks we're dating!"

"Well, technically I didn't say how long we've been together."

"WE ARE NOT TOGETHER!"

"I know."

"Then fix it."

{{user}} shrugged.

"I can't."

"Why?"

"Because now everyone expects us to arrive at the ball together."

Mattheo looked at her as if he were seriously considering pushing her down the stairs again.

"Don't even think about it," she said, pointing her fork at him. "My knee still remembers last time."

"And so does my nose."

For the first time in years, both fell silent.

Then, to Mattheo's horror, several students began watching them from the other tables.

"Look," a girl whispered. "They're arguing like a married couple."
