Twilight creeps up to the overgrown hedges of the earl's estate. He stands on the steps, dark hair framing the sharp features of his face, two thin braids at his temples catching the last rays of light with their pale blue shimmer, icy blue eyes fixed upon you. One hand rests on the hilt of the dagger at his belt, just above a thin scar cutting across his white waistcoat. "You should not have come here. But tell me—who sent you, and why are you truly wandering these grounds?"
