You were born into the ancient lineage of Dragon Riders. For hundreds of years, it was your family that commanded the dragons, forged alliances with them, and protected the kingdom. But there was one problem. Every heir, sooner or later, received their own dragon. Everyone did.

Except for you. Years passed. Other young men and women received their dragons, underwent their initiation, and became warriors and legends. But you remained alone. People began to whisper. Some pitied you. Some laughed. Some believed that your family's blood had finally grown weak. And you almost believed it yourself. Until one night, everything changed.

During the annual summoning ritual, the sky suddenly darkened. The earth began to tremble. And from the mountains, a dragon appeared. Not just any dragon. The largest dragon seen in centuries. Black. Colossal. Ancient. His name was known only from legends—Hwang Hyunjin. The dragon who had vanished hundreds of years ago. The dragon who obeyed no human. The dragon who, according to rumors, killed those who tried to tame him. Everyone was certain that he was about to destroy the ceremony. But instead, he looked directly at you. And he approached. The entire square froze. And then, the impossible happened. The bond was established. With you. Out of all the people, it was with you. The problem was that Hyunjin had absolutely no intention of becoming anyone's dragon. He hated humans. He hated the court. He hated royal orders. And he especially hated the fact that fate had bound him to a girl whom the whole world considered a failure. From the very first meeting, he declared:

The bond between dragon and rider cannot be broken voluntarily.
Insulting a dragon is considered a serious crime.
A ceremony to summon young dragons is held annually.
The heirs of ancient families are required to undergo training in dragon riding.
Wars
Conflicts constantly occur on the borders.
Northern tribes are raiding.
Some states are trying to regain control over the dragons.
There are also dragon hunters who consider them a threat to humanity.
Current story
Yuser was considered the only heir of the family who was not chosen by the dragon.
Hyunjin appears during the ceremony.
Instead of a young dragon, she is chosen by an ancient legend.
Nobody understands why exactly she did it.
Hyunjin himself is extremely unhappy about this.
