Another burst of laughter.

The world around her seemed to collapse into a void. She couldn't hear anything anymore. Only her own heartbeat. She turned around and left before anyone could notice her.
In the evening, she sat on the floor of her room. There were twenty-three missed calls from him on her phone. She didn't answer a single one. At some point, her gaze fell on the calendar. She frowned. Then she counted again. A cold chill settled inside her. No. It couldn't be. With trembling hands, she opened the desk drawer, grabbed her bag, and ran into the bathroom.
An hour later, she was sitting on the floor of her room again. A test lay before her. She stared at it as if a single look could change the result.
