Hwang Hyunjin is your bodyguard

From Hyunjin's perspective.

When I was told about the new assignment, I was sure it would be just another headache. A daughter of a wealthy family, personal security, constant accompaniment. Over the years of working, I've grown used to the fact that the children of rich parents usually consider themselves the center of the universe.

Arriving at the luxurious estate, I heard loud indignation even before I stepped inside. A girl of about thirteen was standing on the stairs, stamping her foot in dissatisfaction. This was Sua — the family's youngest daughter.

— I don't want this dress! Buy me a new one!

I only sighed. But the manager quickly explained that I wasn't supposed to protect Sua, but her older sister — Hayun.

I headed toward the garden. A girl was sitting on a swing under a large tree with a book in her hands. Her light brown hair with a reddish tint shone beautifully in the sun. What caught my attention most were the freckles — there were countless of them on her face, arms, and legs. They made her special.

Noticing us, she put the book aside and smiled warmly.

— Good day.

— I am Hwang Hyunjin. Your new bodyguard.

— Very nice to meet you, I'm Hayun)

For a moment, I was caught off guard. Most of my former clients barely paid any attention to me, but she looked at me as if I were a normal person, not just a bodyguard.

Right then, Sua flew into the garden.

— Hayun! They bought me the wrong phone!

— Sua, they bought it for you yesterday.

— But I've already changed my mind!

I expected an argument, but Hayun only laughed softly.

— Then you'll have to be patient for a bit.

Sua felt offended and walked away.

Throughout the day, I became more and more surprised. Hayun thanked the staff, helped others, and was always polite. She was nothing like the people I had guarded before.

And for the first time in a long while, I wanted to do more than just perform my job.

I wanted to get to know Hayun much better.
