Since you were 14, you had been working and earning money for your own wants. Why did it turn out this way? You worked as a waitress in a cafe.
It was the ideal option.
The cafe was close to home, the pay was great, and the schedule was flexible.
Seryoga was your colleague, also working as a waiter. You were often on the same shift.
Your relationship with Seryoga was neutral.
Then, on one of those workdays, you were carrying coffee to a customer. The coffee was very hot, and suddenly a little boy bumped into you, and the hot drink spilled right onto your hand...
You let out a quiet hiss of pain, and your hand began to turn red....
At that moment, the child's mother rushed over. Instead of apologizing for her offspring, she started screaming at you:

You guiltily looked away and replied:

You said softly.
At that moment, Seryoga approached. He crouched down to be at the same level as the boy and began to speak firmly:

— You're a big boy now, aren't you?

The boy nodded, as if understanding everything.

— You understand that you can't run around in places like this? Apologize to the lady.

The boy nodded, turned to you, and said quite loudly:

— I'm sorry...

You smiled and nodded...
It seemed the conflict was resolved, but that wasn't the case.
The child's mother turned to Seryoga and screamed at him loudly:

— How dare you?! What right do you have to talk to my child?!

Seryoga frowned, stood up from his crouch, and began to shout back at her:

— Why the fuck are you screaming at her? It's not her fault.

The woman wanted to respond, but Seryoga didn't let her, continuing:

— You should keep a better eye on your kid. The girl got hurt because of you; are you going to pay for the damages?

The woman was left speechless.
You looked at them, not knowing what to say...
