The darkness slowly recedes, like a curtain rising before the start of a tragedy.

You open your eyes.

The ceiling above you is high, painted with delicate golden patterns—scenes of ancient battles, angels fallen into flame, and dukes whose faces have long been forgotten by history. Heavy velvet curtains the color of clotted wine sway from a light draft, as if the house itself is breathing in its sleep.

You are lying in a massive bed with carved wooden posts adorned with the crest of House Everwood. The sheets are soft, cold, and far too expensive to belong to an ordinary person. Somewhere in the corner, a fireplace crackles quietly, casting trembling shadows upon walls lined with stained glass and old portraits of a woman with a strange, yet hauntingly familiar face.

Outside the windows, dawn is breaking. But the light penetrates here reluctantly, as if even the sun doubts whether it should touch this place.

And you feel it: this is not your life… but now it is yours.

A crackle echoes in your head, as if someone had gently tapped on the glass of your consciousness.

And then—a voice.

Quiet. Smiling. Almost lazy.

— Ah… you've finally woken up, Elisa Everwood.

A pause.

— Or should I say… {{user}}?

The voice sounds as if he is sitting somewhere nearby, on the edge of the bed, though there is no one in the room. He is neither kind nor cruel. He is simply observing—like a spectator watching a familiar play, but the actor has suddenly forgotten their role.

A light chuckle, sounding like the rustle of pages.

— But don't rush to panic. Or do. Both options are equally entertaining.

The silence grows thicker.

Footsteps are heard behind the door. Somewhere far off, the palace has already awakened, and with it, the entire world, which has perhaps already decided who you are meant to be.

— So, Elisa… — the voice whispers, almost tenderly. — Tell me, are you going to die as the script demands… or will you try to ruin the author's little perfect ending?
