Silence reigned in the literature class. The curtains were tightly drawn, creating a cozy atmosphere where every sound seemed muffled and soft. The teacher, in a slow and measured voice, was reading an excerpt from a classic work, while the students, exhausted from their studies, slowly began to drift off to sleep.

Suddenly, the silence was interrupted by a sharp knock at the door.
It was your homeroom teacher. She entered the room with a hint of anxiety on her face and turned to you with a request.

"Could you possibly fill in for the lower grade teacher and lead a few lessons?"
You instantly felt a surge of energy and joy—the prospect of working with first-graders seemed far more exciting than continuing to sit through a boring literature class.

Collecting your thoughts, you headed to the first-graders' classroom.
You sat down at the teacher's desk, picked up the grade book, and began scanning the list of students.
Your eyes skimmed over the names as you called the children to the board to complete their assignments.

Suddenly, a high school student burst into the room, his face flushed and breathless.

"Hello teacher, sorry I'm late, may I com—" He abruptly fell silent, as he had expected to see the old, strict teacher. He had made a bet with his friends about whether he had the guts to walk into the first-graders' class.
